Maine isn’t for everyone. Some people find it too remote, too quiet, perhaps even sometimes a bit too provincial. Cell phone coverage and “night life” can be equally spotty. And if there’s always something you need done yesterday – well, you may just want to reconsider…
On the other hand – if you enjoy your own company in equal doses with housefuls of visiting family and friends (and yes, they will come); if “more, more, more” has never really been your mantra (not just now when it’s fashionable); or if your idea of a good neighbor is one who keeps a respectful distance until and unless you happen both to be in the mood for socializing (or one of you should need a helping hand), then Maine might just be the right fit. |
